'Prince' music to be released on Valentine's Day

The music of Vivek Oberoi-starrer "Prince" is set to release on Valentine's Day Sunday and the producers of the film have planned a big surprise to mark the event.

"Innovation has always been a key for Tips Industries and with this film too we hope to change some rules of the game," says producer Kumar Taurani.

The music launch will be attended by Vivek in Oberoi Mall, Mumbai, and is open to public.

Bipasha Basu sued for 5 crore

There were reports of Bipasha being harassed by the hotel management in Delhi, an allegation that the hotel’s chairman, Ashok Mittal, promptly denied. And now, the miffed hotelier has sent legal notices to Bipasha Basu, Shemaroo Entertainment and also the PR Company handling the event in Delhi, Add-on Entertainment

According to the notice, when Bipasha and Shemaroo’s representatives demanded an extra Rs 30 lakh at the last minute to have Bipasha make an appearance at the party, was when the deal began to fall apart, “as the Company had by this time already spent as much as about Rs 45 lakh towards the various arrangements,” says the document. The notice also accuses the other party of “attempted extortion threat”. Mittal has asked for damages “to the tune of Rs 5 crores” as “damages towards the loss of reputation, goodwill and standing”.

My Name is Khan’ tickets were sold out in five seconds at the Berlin International Film Festival. Fans had not slept all night to keep their places in the queue despite the sub-zero temperature in Berlin.

Those who arrived at 6 a.m. were in tears. The online tickets for the superstar’s own people who phoned the Berlinale authorities five minutes after ticketing opened were told they were way too late. The film’s tickets were auctioned on e-Bay for 1,000 euros (about Rs.60,000) each.

Jenny Watkinson, assigned the ’Shah Rukh Khan department’ in the International Relations office of Dieter Kosslick, Berlin film festival director, told us: "I’ve never seen anything like it. This year it’s expected to be even bigger than in 2008 (during ’Om Shanti Om’). The online tickets for ’My Name is Khan’ were sold out in five seconds."

The film premieres in Berlin on Friday with a red carpet at the prestigious Berlinale Palast theatre on Potsdamer Platz.

The film’s screening has police protection in Berlin. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and director Karan Johar are in Berlin for the premiere of the film.

What is all about? The film Kedi is all about the regular elements of friendship, love and action. The film is all about a card game on which the lives of many depend! The climax of the film deals with how Kedi (Nagarjuna) emerges the winner in the game. The Plot: Ramesh (Nagarjuna) is an orphan in Guntur and he faces many problems in his childhood and story begins with the childhood friends Ramesh and Janaki. Ramesh develops love with Janaki from childhood itself. Nagarjuna plays the role of ‘Ramesh’ who is fondly called as ‘Rummy’.Janaki tells Rummy that he should get name and fame in society and must also earn good money then she would be ready to marry him.Rummy agrees to that and then he gets into gambling, in no time, he becomes a very wealthy person but then he nails only those people who became rich by wrong route and wins them in the gambling.His movements are closely watched by the ACP Sekhar(Sayaji Shinde) but despite several attempts, he fails to catch Rummy. Meanwhile, Chandra (Ankur) who runs a pub gets close to Rummy and manages to have a smuggling deal with him. In the meanwhile, in Goa, Rummy wins the heart of Nadia(Linda) as he saves her sister Sara (Paula) from a cruel man called Victor. Linda proposes to Rummy but he negates it. However, Rummy turns her proposal down and he is helped in his ventures by Sandhya(Mamatha).Who is Sandhya and what happened to Janaki? Is Rummy successful in his goal? All this forms the rest of the story and the suspense revealed in the climax. The Actors: Nagarjuna is looking much younger and fresh than before and he has done justice to his job. Mamatha Mohandas was gorgeous but she might be a disappointment for the glamour lovers since her role doesn't have any oomph factor. Sayaji Shinde was as usual, Harshavardhan was hilarious, Brahmanandam was superb but he could have been better, Ankur is outstanding, the others didn't have much to offer. Cinematography is good. Background score was weak. You will notice director Kiran's lack of experience. Bottom line: Movie First half and second half go in similar tone with entertainment. The film is ideally an entertainer and so the plot runs on a very thin line, but over all Kedi is an Entertainer with a perfect screen play and it fares well with charisma of Nagarjuna in it. You can watch this film without any hesitation. This film is more of a time pass movie but not an exciting movie.

Aishwarya down with high fever, advised bed rest

Doting parents-in-law Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan are looking after Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai who is down with high fever and has been advised bed rest by doctors.

Hero Prabhas father is no more

Prominent film producer and father of Prabhas, Mr Uppalapati Suryanarayana Raju, passed away at the KIMS Hospital, Secunderabad this morning. He was admitted in the hospital a few days ago as he was suffering from many age-related ailments.

Mr Suryanarayana Raju was the brother of the actor-turned-politician, Mr Krishnam Raju.

Mr Raju had produced many films under the banner of Gopikrishna Movies, including ‘Bhakta Kannappa’, ‘Krishnaveni’ and ‘Amaradeepam’.

Katrina kaif is un well again

Mumbai theatres shut booking of MNIK

Nearly half of Mumbai’s cinemas have stopped advance bookings for Shah Rukh Khan’s My Name is Khan, scheduled for release on Friday.

After a conference call on Wednesday afternoon, theatre-owners said the security provided to them by the Mumbai police is not adequate. The Shiv Sena has threatened to attack cinemas showing the film unless Shah Rukh apologizes for his comments on Pakistani cricketers.

The film’s director, Karan Johar, tweeted "On my way to the airport..nerves are high, morale is higher and the city support is the highest..more power to the mighty mumbaikar…"

A thousand Shiv Sainiks have been taken into custody by the Mumbai police after Sena leader Manohar Joshi said on Wednesday that neither the police nor the government will be able to stop his men.

The leave of all Mumbai police has been cancelled so that 63 theatres scheduled to show Khan’s film can be protected. On Tuesday, Johar met the Mumbai police commissioner D Sivanandan. Multiplex owners attended the meeting too.

Shah Rukh Khan’s security has also been increased by the Mumbai police.

The constables assigned to cinema halls have been told that no bags can be taken into theatres. Every ticket-holder will be frisked while entering the cinema, and will have to provide identity cards. Single-screen cinemas will be manned by a police sub-inspector, one constable, two women police constables and 5 plainclothes policemen. Theatres with more screens will have even more security.
