Tabu happy to be called sensuous

Tabu's fans find her sensuous despite the actress sometimes playing non-glamorous as in "The Namesake". The two-time national award winner is happy with the tag.

On being asked about the "sensuous" tag given to her by fans, Tabu said: "I am happy being called one."

Unlike her colleagues, who undergo gruelling workout sessions and follow strict diet plans to stay fit, Tabu doesn't do any such thing.

"I don't believe in dieting and gymming," the 39-year-old told. She, however, refused to reveal her fitness mantra, insisting: "It's a secret."

After a three-year career hiatus, Tabu returns to the big screen with the comedy "Toh Baat Pakki" that released Friday.

Last seen in the unconventional love story "Cheeni Kum" (2007) with superstar Amitabh Bachchan, in "Toh Baat Pakki", she has teamed up with a younger lot Sharman Joshi, Vatsal Seth and Yuvika Chaudhary.

"It was great fun working with Sharman, Vatsal and Yuvika. Moreover, since it is a fun film, the whole atmosphere on the sets made the shooting enjoyable," she said.

"Toh Baat Pakki" is about a middle class woman Rajeshwari (Tabu), who is obsessed with getting her younger sister Nisha (Yuvika) married to a well-settled boy. How the choice of groom oscillates from Rahul (Sharman) to Yuvraaj (Vatsal) and vice versa forms the story.

Katrina, Saif to spread awareness of domestic violence

Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan, Harman Baweja and Minnisha Lamba have joined hands to spread awareness about the evil of domestic violence.

The Wave Foundation has initiated a cause with Flying Unicorn Entertainment to create awareness and try and end domestic violence towards women in the country.

An event is being organised with support from members of the Hindi film industry to give impetus to the cause and to honour six women who have stood up against domestic violence.

Katrina, Harman and Saif will be performing at the event.

"Katrina always likes being part of something meaningful. If her presence brings greater recognition towards the cause she always extends her full hearted support," said a source on the actress' participation.

The event will be held Saturday in Mumbai.

Asin's Bollywood Dreams shattered!

As Asin is not getting any big offers after ‘ London Dreams ’ in Bollywood, Asin is looking south as she is a wanted girl in south.

Now the news is abuzz that quite a few big projects are lined up for Asin, waiting for her approval.

Asin will play the lead opposite Vijay in the Tamil remake of Siddique’s Malayalam flick‘ Bodyguard.Nayantara was the heroine in Malayalam original.This will start in March.

Big B demands apology for 'violation of journalistic norms'

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is in no mood to forgive and forget daily tabloid Mumbai Mirror for allegedly invading the privacy of his daughter-in-law actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and for claiming that she can't risk pregnancy due to stomach tuberculosis. He has demanded an apology from the newspaper.

"The unprofessional and slanderous nature of this article in such an esteemed and respected newspaper as the Mumbai Mirror is deeply disturbing. It brings the author of this article into disrepute. It brings the editor that published this article into disrepute. It brings this particular newspaper into disrepute. It brings the profession of journalism into disrepute," Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.

"This article is in violation of the journalistic norms of conduct as published by the Press Council of India. Beyond your own disgrace, you have caused grievous distress and harm to the Bachchan family," he added.

The article in question, "Pregnant Pause - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan", was printed in the Thursday edition of the tabloid and alleged that Aishwarya is suffering from contracted tuberculosis of the stomach and as a consequence of this disease and its treatment, she is unable to conceive. The article also said that Amitabh has been pressing the duo for a grandson and was "therefore gender prejudiced".

The 67-year-old has written to Meenal Baghel, the editor of Mumbai Mirror.

He posted: "Due to the illicit nature of this slander, I request a retraction and full apology. The full apology comprises the names of the individual journalist and chief editor, the journalist's and editor's unqualified retraction and refutation of the contents of the article, the apology should be addressed to both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan first and specifically, and also to the Bachchan family in general.

"The apology is to be printed on the first page of the entertainment section of the Mumbai Mirror on the same page, in the same size print, and including the signatures of the aforementioned journalist and editor and an immediate donation of a sum of (amount to be decided by members of my extended family of the blog) to a national charitable foundation of your choosing that supports those who suffer from tuberculosis and an article in your newspaper highlighting its work."

Aishwarya had written to the tabloid Thursday asking for a denial and apology of equal prominence. The retraction was printed in the next edition.

Jr NTR's Shakti enough to lift Ileana!

Ileana's Saleem and Rechipo might have flopped, but this sexy lass is confident that she will bounce back. She says “The poor showing of the films hasn’t affected me. Apart from acting, like any other star, Ileana is also busy cutting ribbons & promoting businesses and making extra money with this side business.

Ileana is going to launch her mom’s designerwear collection this Ugadi. “Mom has been styling my outfits all these years. Now she’s going to launch her very own collection and I’m super excited about it,” says Ileana. she says family is important and even today she gives her earning to her mom and her mom gives some pocket money.

Katrina’s Raajneeti to release on June 4

The most anticipated film of the year Raajneeti is slated for release by UTV Motion Pictures on June 4, 2010. Raajneeti is co produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Walkwater Media Ltd; and is directed by ten time national award winner Prakash Jha.

Raajneeti stars Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Naseeruddin Shah along with newcomer Sarah. The music of the film has been composed by the Wayne Sharpe and screenplay is by Prakash Jha and Anjum Rajabali.

Ash-Rajini’s ROBOT releasing in August

Superstar Rajnikant, who has teamed with Aishwarya Rai in Tamil film Endhiran(ROBOT in Telugu) is expected to hit the screens in July or August.

Rajnikant was speaking on one of the costliest films to be made in India - with a budget of over Rs 125 crore - after he had visited Chief Minister K Karunanidhi Thursday to thank him for attending the engagement ceremony of Rajnikant’s second daughter Soundarya with industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar.

ROBOT is directed by Shankar and according to the him more than 90 percent of the movie is complete. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film.

Hero and Heroine missing for Two hours (gossip)

If you do it, you are doomed. If you don’t, you are damned. That’s exactly what happened with Anushka Sharma and Shahid Kapoor when they locked lips on the sets of Yash Raj Films’ Badmaash Company. Both actors became the butt of many jokes on the sets.

The incident in question happened on the sets in Bandra where Shahid and Anushka kissed - not once, but thrice. After the first take, Sethi demanded a retake. “It was gawky and odd. You guys need to do it again,” he said.

While the set was being readied for the retake, Shahid and Anushka disappeared from the sets. When they were not to be seen for more than half an hour, the crew members tried calling them on their cell phones but to no avail. “Even Sethi tried calling them, but they didn’t take his call,” a source said.

Shahid and Anushka finally returned after two hours. When Sethi asked them where they had gone, they sheepishly said, “We had gone to buy some books from a bookstore in Bandra.” “Two hours?” Sethi asked. Shahid and Anushka did not reply.

Within no time, a lot of crew members were pulling their leg. “Which book had you gone to buy? The Beginner’s Guide To Kissing?”

Well, whatever books they bought, the certainly seemed to have helped. After that, the two were kissing without inhibitions. The source added, “They kissed quite well. The change was remarkable. In fact, Anushka, who was quite shy when asked to kiss on the first occasion, had turned into a completely new person. Shahid was still a bit shy, though.”

Shruti to act with Surya?

Shruti Haasan, it seems, will have a dream debut in Kollywood after all. If sources are to be believed, the actress will be working with Suriya and A R Murugadoss in their next film, which has music by Harris Jayaraj. The film has been triggering interest as Ghajini, the last project that Suriya and A R Murugadoss worked together in, was a roaring success.

Many expect the team to deliver another hit on the lines of Ghajini. Sources close to the film’s unit disclose that Ravi K Chandran will be the cameraman for the project, the work on which is to begin in April this year.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also producing another movie starring Kamal Haasan and Trisha, is to produce this film.

Sree Vaas to direct Balakrishna?

Big B blasts media report on Aishwarya’s health

An angry Amitabh Bachchan has blasted, what he called a "false" and "insensitive" media report on his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s health saying, "I shall not tolerate it."

A city based tabloid, published a report saying Aishwarya had been trying to conceive for some time but has been unable to do as she is suffering from stomach tuberculosis.

Bachchan, who was "too incensed and angered" by the claims of the tabloid, posted the copy of the report on his blog calling it the "lowest quality of journalism".

"I write to you today in deep anguish, pain and disgust. This article is completely false, completely fabricated, unsubstantiated, insensitive and of the lowest quality of journalism there ever was," Bachchan wrote on his
blog.

"I am the head of my family. Aishwarya is not my daughter-in -law, she is my daughter, a woman, a lady in my house and home. If anyone will speak derogatorily about her, I shall fight for her till my last breath. If you have something to say to the men in the house, Abhishek or me, I shall bear it. BUT .. if you shall make injudicious remarks on the women in my home, I shall not tolerate it !!!," Bachchan added.

The 67-year-old superstar further wrote, "I am too incensed and angered by the contents!! Not a single portion of the article is true!! I have much to comment upon on this, but shall hold on till another day."

His son and Ash’s husband has also Tweeted about the rumours surrounding his wife.

"The article is disgusting and appalling! As a husband and a man i’m shocked that one can talk so irresponsibly about a woman, that too..FALSELY!! on a personal note, as a husband i will not stand for such rubbish being written about my wife," Abhishek wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Leader movie review

Synopsis Story:

Chief Minister Sanjeevayya (Suman) gets killed in a landmine blast. His son Arjun Prasad (Rana) descends as next CM but after a series of political games with his opponents and power greedy Dhanunjay (Subba Raju). Arjun’s paternal uncle (Kota) also moves against Arjun.

Arjun is idealistic in nature and wishes to change the rules of political system in the state. How far is he successful? What is the method he has chosen to make that change? How people react to that? Who helped him in his cause? How enemies try to put an end for him? All that forms the story.

Artists Performances:

Rana deserves right encomiums for his portrayal. He has underplayed the role as per the requirement. His voice and diction are good. If he concentrates better on working out expressions, he will be a promising actor.

Richa Gangopadhyaya is like a sheer poetry in some scenes. The credit goes to costumes department and also cinematographer.Priya Anand looks good but her role is not fitting into the narration.

Subba Raju, the antagonist, played histrionics very well and up to the mark. Harshavardhan is perfectly in tune in his role as protagonist’s yes-man. Rao Ramesh made his presence felt even with his small role. Kota Sreenivasa Rao is serious.

Director would have used him better with some satirical and humorous dialogues, as audience expect in general. Udaya Bhanu arrested the eyes of audience with her item number. Others are ok.Cinematography is good. Music and RR are marvelous. It’s really the RR (Re-Recording) that brought emotional grip to narration.

Analysis:

The man behind the scenes Sekhar Kammula has done his research well. This being his long cherished baby he has put his heart and soul into the film. Though some glaring faults in some scenes are apparent, they could be over looked for the good effort put in. though the film would have been a drag with the presence of the heroines.

The only area where the audience would feel suffocated would be the lack of comedy.The film scores in the sincerity of the effort and a novel idea. Surely it is a departure from the run of the mill song and dance sequence films that Tollywood is used to offer.

The production values are excellent. Some of the scenes and dialogues hit the nail on the head, they convey the meaning they intend to, and surely emotions are racing when one hears them.The film is also a good roller-coaster ride emotion wise and the eyes would be wet every now and then seeing the tragic scenes. It's a one man show and the rest of the cast revolve round him. So RaNa is the man.

He has done a good job and from no angle does he look a debutant. His upbringing in the filmy Khandan of Rama Naidu shows-upthe film. Subba Raju, Kota, Tannikella Bharani, Suhasini and the heroines Richa and Priya all do justice to their respective roles.

Unwell Ash visits grandma-in-law!

For Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, her relationships seem to score over everything - so much so that even though she was unwell, she travelled to Bhopal to celebrate the 80th birthday of her husband Abhishek Bachchan’s maternal grandmother.

According to a source close to Aishwarya, this was a commitment the couple had made to Abhishek’s ’nani’ (maternal grandmother) a while ago. And despite the high fever and sore throat that she has been suffering from since a few days, Aishwarya made sure she was there to fulfil her promise.

"Aishwarya is much much better, but still not 100 percent (fine). But she’s my nani’s favourite so she made the trip too. Should be back to fighting fit… in a day or two," Abhishek posted on social networking site Twitter.

Why was Big B miffed during 'Teen Patti' promotion?

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan brought back memories of his 'angry young man' days when he came here Monday for the promotion of his upcoming film "Teen Patti" in a visibly upset mood -- for reasons unknown.

Clad in a white pin-stripe black suit, white shirt and pink tie, the 67-year-old, who is known for his punctuality, was two hours late for the promotion of the film.

The actor entered the event with a noticeable miffed look and picked a seat not meant for him.

When a PR agent informed him that he was to be seated in the centre where his nameplate was assigned to him, he asserted: "Just change the card".

Asked by a scribe how he maintained his innocence despite his success and whether it was courtesy the values inherited from his father, Big B who was trying to answer looked at the gawking male debutants from "Teen Patti" and said: "What are you looking at?"

He then answered: "People like these (pointing at the audience) keep me going."

The 67-year-old was at the Gold Souk mall here alongside the cast and crew of the film which included producer Ambika Hinduja, director Leena Yadav, R. Madhavan and newcomers Siddharth Kher, Dhruv Ganesh, Vaibhav Talwar and Shraddha Kapoor.

A source who was present at the event said about Amitabh's mood: "Amitji is probably angry because of the questions he was asked by a TV journalist...."

Releasing Feb 26, "Teen Patti" is about greed and deception with the background of high-stake gambling. Apart from Amitabh in the lead, it also stars Sir Ben Kingsley, Raima Sen and Saira Mohan in important roles.

The film also boasts of special appearances by Ajay Devgn, Jackie Shroff, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor and Tinnu Anand.

Shriya lecture to IIM students

Indian Institute of Management- Ahmedabad (IIM-A), the top B-school in the country, had a celebrity lecturer on Friday. It was none other than Shriya Saran who was invited by the institute to give a guest lecture on marketing and branding of a film.

The actress gave a lecture to the second year students of contemporary film industry (CFI) which is an elective course for the postgraduate programme at IIM-A.

“I feel elated when I got an invitation from IIM-A. Because I am well aware that it is one of the prestigious management schools in India and lecturing there is no short of a national honour. I was thrilled to interact with some of the brilliant minds of the country,” says Shriya.

After the actress described how things move in Tamil and Telugu film industries, a question-answer session followed where she handled all the queries with spontaneity and humour.

“I did a lot of research for almost five days to impress the budding managers,” she says. The course was introduced by the IIM-A recently and it gives hands-on experience on movies and entertainment, besides providing a glimpse of the global film industry.

Sowmya a Telugu girl from Vizag, had made her mark with The Angrez, is fuming after the racy snaps were leaked online. The photos were allegedly taken as a part of audition to a Bra company advertisement.The heroine posed to camera with bra and panty.

Close friend of heroines says, it's not a scenario where she purposely leaked the photos for attention. The photos that have surfaced of Sowmya were stolen from her laptop and sent to several media outlets.

But we can’t rule out the possibility of using the scandals to become popular in unconventional way.

Tiger Woods impregnated porn star Joslyn James twice

Porn film star Joslyn James, who is said to have been Tiger Woods' mistress, claims the golfer got her pregnant twice.

She suffered a miscarriage during her first pregnancy in 2007 and got her second pregnancy aborted two years later, James said on a US TV show, reports express.co.uk.

James said it was around the same time as her first pregnancy that Woods' wife gave birth to daughter Sam Alexis in June 2007. She even revealed that she got her second child aborted around the time as Woods' son Charlie's birth in February 2009.

James said she deliberately did not tell Woods about the first pregnancy because "I just did not want to ruin anything".

"Actually, the day I was going to tell him, I had a miscarriage. After I lost the baby I didn't want to talk about it," she added.

Allu Arjun’s ‘Varudu’ filming last song
