Ranjitha Untraceable: Mani Ratnam Worried

The actress plays an important role in the Mani Ratnam directed Ravan. Ever since the video made its way to the television channels and news papers, the actress has been absconding.

The Ravan unit, which is gearing up to release the film during the summer holidays, is now in a trouble after video. Apparently, a few scenes involving Ranjitha need to be shot, and this issue has the team in jitters, as Ranjitha remains untraceable.

Disciple shot sting to ‘unmask’ Nityanand

It is one gurudakshina Swami Paramahamsa Nityanand might remember for life. The godman’s former disciple, Nitya Dharmananda alias Lenin Karuppan, has claimed he filmed Nityanand’s sexcapades “ to unmask the man masquerading as a spiritual leader”. The videos showed Nityanand in compromising positions with actress Ranjitha. According to Dharmananda, she served as Nityanand’s personal attendant during her frequent, dayslong visits to his ashram.

The former disciple is said to have told the police more about the godman’s ‘ sexcapades’ and other murky happenings at his ashram. “ He had intimate relationships with many other heroines too,” Dharmananda said.

He added that his suspicions about the godman’s activities were aroused with the death of a devotee from Canada at the ashram. They were deepened when another devotee attempted suicide.

Dharmananda is also said to have handed over to the police two CDs believed to contain Nityanand’s dalliance with other tinseltown beauties.

The former Nityanand disciple said he had joined the godman’s staff as a driver. He went on to become Nityanand’s trusted lieutenant and settled down in the Bangalore ashram in 2006. He had free access to the godman’s private rooms and he said he made the tapes December last.

“ Sensing I had done a sting operation, Nityanand and ashram functionaries threatened me on February 18 during a visit to Salem. I escaped,” Dharmananda said. He has sought police protection.

However, Dharmananda’s claims have raised doubts about the motive behind the release of the sleaze tapes.

In the meantime, Nityanand has said the videos were “ morphed” and that it was “ a conspiracy to defame” him. In an appeal through his website, he has urged his followers not to be carried away by the tapes.

Interesting part is that Ash's south flick 'Endhiran' is stated to be the one the costliest films made in India around a lavish budget of over Rs.125 crore as disclosed by the icon Rajinikanth after his visit to the Chief Minister K. Karunanidhi on Thursday.

As south filmmakers are not only known as strictly professional but also as fast forward in completing their project, it is heard that 'Endhiran' is partially ninety percent over with its direction according to the director Shankar. To add charm to the movie the film's music is directed under the renowned Grammy award winner A.R. Rahman. For the first time Aishwariya will be appearing in a movie which is heard to be based on a science fiction story. Two leading producers competing for 'Robo'

Rajinikanth’s much awaited film ‘Endhiran’ seems to be taking both Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh by storm. Rajinikanth got huge fan followinging in AP and consider his films as equal as Tollywood big star movie. This is exactly the reason why the complete rights for his films continue to be sold at astronomical prices.

‘Endhiran’ (tentatively titled as ‘Robo’ in Telugu) also enjoys the hype for several reasons. First,the film will also be the costliest film ever made in India,it is 175 th film from AVM and Aish factor is adding to it. Keeping all these factors in mind, two leading producers from Telugu film Industry are said to be competing to secure the complete rights of ‘Robo’ for entire Andhra Pradesh. Sources say that these producers have quoted a whopping sum of Rs.26 crores for the complete rights including the Satellite rights for the film.

We will have to wait and see who would have the last laugh in securing these rights of Rajinikanth and Shankar’s magnum opus!

Kajol favourite Bollywood daughter-in-law

Acclaimed Bollywood actress Kajol who is married to actor Ajay Devgn for 11 years now, was voted the favourite 'bahu' (daughter-in law) in a poll conducted by matrimonial site shaadi.com.

As part of the upcoming International Women's Day celebrations on Monday, shaadi.com conducted a poll in which 250,000 women participated.

In the poll, 43.08 percent women said Kajol was their favourite Bollywood daughter-in-law.

Besides Kajol, others vying for the position were Aishwarya Rai, Gauri Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora, Twinkle Khanna and Kiran Rao.

"The women's day poll is part of the constant research that shaadi.com conducts in its attempt to gauge the preferences of its members. The results show that today the women are looking to be more independent and are willing to adopt stronger roles in their life. They believe in themselves and aspire to emulate top achievers in their field," said Gourav Rakshit, business head, shaadi.com.

Film personalities panic as I-T raids actor Ganesh

The income-tax department raided the residence of Tollywood actor-producer Ganesh and a hotelier who owns the Our Place restaurant in the city on Thursday.

Sources confirmed that the I-T department seized unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 8 lakh from the restaurant owner during the raid.Ganesh has acted in more than 30 Telugu movies as a comedian and produced a movie Anjaneyulu starring Nayanatara and Ravi Teja. This actor-turned producer is likely to produce another movie soon with Pavan Kalyan in the lead.The income-tax officials raided his residence at Jubilee Hills at 4 pm.The raids went on until 9.30 pm. Income tax officials locked the main gate of his residence preventing the media from entering the house.

Sources confirmed that I-T department conducted raids at Ganesh’s farm house at Shadnagar in Mahbubnagar district at the same time and is believed to have seized a few property documents from there.During the raids, Ganesh came to the balcony of his residence and said, “Only God knows if someone is deliberately doing this to me.”The raids shocked the actors and film makers in the Telugu film industry.

In the recent past, there have not been any income tax raids on the film personalities in Tollywood.Therefore, I-T raids on Ganesh, there was panic among actors in the Telugu film industry.Meanwhile, the income tax officials refused to give any information on the raids and the amount seized at Ganesh’s residence.

Jr NTR’s Brindavanam coming on August 15th?

AP High Court stops screening of ‘High School’ movie

Overcoming all the obstacles, Kiran Rathod’s ‘High School’ is finally released today. The film is a love story of a 30-year old woman with a 13-year old boy. It stars Kiran Rathod and Master Karthik in the lead roles.

The latest news is that Andhra Pradesh High Court has today ordered to stop screening of the ’High School’ movie.A lawyer by name Yashwant and also few other persons filed a case in the High Court against the movie. They say that the movie has been found to be very vulgar (after they watched it) and also in some scenes the heroine Kiran Rathod exposes too much like in a rainy scenes where her bra and inner ’things’ can be easily visible.

Since the movie is likely to spoil the minds of young people, the people have requested the High Court to stop the screening of the movie.

The High courtagreed to their request and ordered the theaters to stop screening the movie.

The next hearing on the movie would be on 9th this month.

YVS Chowdary complaint on Mohanbabu

Director YVS Chowdary whose last few films were very unsuccessful has filed a case against actor Mohan Babu.YVS Choudary was the director of Saleem ( Vishnu & Ileana) and the film was produced by Mohanbabu and Reliance jointly. As the final payment of that movie, Mohanbabu has issued a cheque worth Rs40 lakhs to YVS Chaoudary as part of director’s remuneration- But the cheque was dishonored in the bank on the reasons of insufficient funds.YVS has written a letter to Mohanbabu asking him to settle his amount Rs40 lakhs. But Mohanbabu ignored YVS’s letter. Then YVS went to Director’s association and complained on Mohanbabu. Director’s association has passed that complaint to Producer’s council.

However Mohan Babu has a different version to offer. The film’s initial budget was initially fixed at less than 10 crores. But YVS Chowdary has increased the budget to more than 25 crores even though the film can easily be made with budget less than 10 crores. Mohan Babu indirectly hints that the extra budget went into the pockets of YVS Chowdary.

We have to see, whether Producer’s council can come up with any answer for this complaint.

An advertisement featuring socialite Paris Hilton has sparked controversy in Brazil and a government official for women's affairs has called for removing the commercial due to its sexist undertones.

In the advertisement, Hilton is seen sexually rubbing a can of beer on herself in an office building as passers-by stare at her antics.

Despite being fully clothed throughout the ad, officials at Brazil's Women's Secretariat revealed that the authorities have received several complaints about the "sensual nature" of the campaign.

Heroine Charmee is in news after long time, but for not right reasons. Charmee and ‘Mayagadu’ producer Ravichand are mud sliding on each other. Charmee lodged complaint with MAA about harassment of producer Ravichand . On the other hand producer is complaining about heroine Charmee non co-operation in promoting the movie’ Mayagadu’.

'Dilwale Dulhania' completes 750 weeks

Love story "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi films, has completed 750 weeks of continuous screenings in a cinema hall.

This Sunday, the film completes 750 weeks at the Maratha Mandir theatre here.

Directed by Aditya Chopra and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the movie opened to full houses and rave reviews all over the world Oct 20, 1995.

The evergreen production is by Yash Raj films.

Deepika Padukone addicted!

Deepika Padukone has become so addicted to the card game Mendicot that she along with the team of the new film "Karthik Calling Karthik" continued to play it on a commercial flight, even as other passengers tried to sleep.

Deepika says, "I can't stop playing Mendicot. Ritesh and Farhan introduced me and director Vijay Lalwani to the game. When we took off on Sunday from Mumbai on our private jet the first thing Farhan and Ritesh did was to teach us this game. I've become addicted."

Sighs Deepika: "I l-o-v-e-d the whirlwind tour. For two days I had more fun than I've had in my entire life. Throughout the trip we played Mendicot - not Teen Patti, please! We didn't sleep at all for two days because some of the flight-duration were less than two hours. So all we did was play Mendicot on the flights."

Plot:

Six friends Ajay (Raja), Shruti (Manjari), Bala (Kishore), Vicky (Harish), Sudhakar (Ravi) and Deepti (Richa) complete their college.They meet for one last time and then decide to meet on the same day next year.However, that doesn’t happen as everyone gets busy. After seven years,Hero Raja is back from US and tries to catch up with the remaining.He convinces all his friends for a reunion and plans for a 7 Day vacation to relive their college days. What happened in these 7 days and how each person’s life has taken turns forms the rest of the story.


Actors:

Raja is as usual and nothing has changed for him, right from ‘Anand’ to till date. I guess he needs to work a lot on his performance and expressions.



Manjari’s appearance is good but not good enough when it comes to her emotional scenes.



Richa performance is lackluster and she has done her bit with energy and contributed.



Vennela Kishore is the life and soul for the movie, witty dialogues and energetic performance, he is the show-stealer.



Harish and Sandeep did justice to their performance.



Gollapudi Maruti Rao was as usual and Saira Bhanu looks seductive.



Director Suman Pathuri needs a lot to contemplate on the screenplay and narration.



Music is okay.

What is all about?

The story is about the town of Rajahmundry, where all this is happening and here is Rajesh, an intelligent young man who specializes in taking and making loans throughout the area.


Plot:

It is the town of Rajahmundry and here lives Rajesh (nikhil) a handsome young man who is smart and uses his intellect to make loans throughout the place. His father (Kasi Vishwanath) is a school teacher and they are basically a middle class family.Things take a turn when Shruti (Swetha) lands up at Rajesh’s place due to a dog chase and in this process, she drops a very important chain by mistake. The story takes a turn when Rajesh is forced to pledge the chain to save a friend from a problem and the chain goes to the fearsome Narendar Shetty (ajay).Shetty happens to be the ’bava’ of Shruti and the chain has a connection with dreaded Narendar Shetty (Ajay).What happens from there forms the rest of the story



Actors:

Nikhil has come up with an energetic performance and he is an asset to the movie.



Swetha looks alright and her performance is also ok but her physique has changed due to weight increase.



Ajay is another talented actor and he does justice to his role.



The comedy gang of Ali is apt, Dharmavarapu subramanyam was okay, Venu Madhav is okay, he made his presence with regular antics, Raghu Babu did a good job and generated few laughs.



Kasi Vishwanath, Ahuti Prasad and others contributed in the character roles. Anitha sizzles with her hot looks but the song could have been made well.



Verdict:

The film runs on a beaten track and though the thought of the makers is good, it was not executed correctly on the screen. Flaws are evident clearly in the direction and the narrative aspects, even cracks in script and screenplay were observed. The movie is an average and not up to the expected levels. You could watch it, but only if you have run out of choices.
