Tollywood 2010: Good Times Ahead!!!

The year 2009 was not that great for the Tollywood members and just when they thought that the losses would be covered by the grand releases in December, the T-bomb set by KCR sent a tsunami in Tollywood landing it in topsy turvy.

However, despite all the pressures and setbacks, the Tollywood folk have not given up and now they are looking forward to 2010 with good hopes. Sankranthi would be seeing big guns arriving with Adhurs (NTR jr), Kedi (Nagarjuna), Namo Venkatesa (Venkatesh), Balayya (Simha), Varudu (Allu Arjun), Leader (Rana), Sambho Siva Sambho (Ravi Teja). There will also be a race for the number one position between the trio- Mahesh Babu, NTR jr, Pawan Kalyan as they would have their releases during the summer or second half. The younger wave of heroes have movies like Vedham (allu arjun), Chaitanya with his romance flick, Rana with his debut, Charan with his romantic treat, Ram with ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna’. So this will also create a line up of ranks among the young breed.

As for the ladies, there is Anushka arriving with Vedham while the dusky seductress Sheela is pinning her hopes on ‘Adhurs’. Hansika Motwani is aiming for a hit with ‘Seetaramula Kalyanam’, Trisha is coming with ‘Namo Venkatesa’. Ileana, Tamannah would be busy with their Tamil flicks and Priyamani will be seen with ‘Sambho Siva Sambho’ and ‘Sadhyam’. While this has been the big bracket, even the medium budget movie makers are positive that they will have their own share of revenue. Notable among them is Chandra Siddartha who said that it is the ideal time to release movies like ‘Housefull’ and ‘Andari Bandhuvaya’.

Not to forget the youth entertainers like ‘Sneha Geetham’ ‘Kalavar King’ ‘Maro Charitra’ and others.

For the offbeat audience, Ram Gopal Varma is arriving with the sequel to his horror flick titled ‘Aavaham’ and Sharwanand will be seen with ‘Prasthanam’. There will be a flurry of B-banner and C-banner movies as well along with new beauties and new lads making their foray. Overall, this is going to be a rather busy year for the audience as well so let us hope the box office keeps ringing at all times and all seasons.
