Charmy is slowly bagging films once gain after a long gap. Charmy has now bagged a film opposite Srikanth The film has been titled as ‘Ranga’ with the tagline ‘The Donga’.

Charmy acted opposite Srikanth in Kausalya Supraja Rama and also did an item song in Mahathma. Ranga will be directed by GV.Manohar who produced the 100th film os Srikanth Mahathma is the producer.

Sex icon Shakeela to wed next year

Sexy Shakeela who is known to everyone with her sex appeal and her hot and spicy roles in Malayalam is going to wed Chennai-based industrialist in June 2010. This was disclosed by the actress during a press meet. Shakeela, who made it big at the Malayalam film industry with her sex appeal, decided to tie the knot with her long time boyfriend. The wedding will take place with the blessings of both the families.

The lady, however, did not disclose the identity of her fiancé. Shakeela said that the formal announcement would come when the time is right. Speaking of her career, Shakeela said that marriage will not stop her from donning the greasepaint.

As per the latest gossip in Tollycircles, producer Suresh Chowdary who has struck the gold with "Manmadhulu," a sex movie which is making waves in Andhra Pradesh is all eyeing to produce a direct Telugu movie.

During these times of Political agitations in the state where Telangana supporters are not allowing the screening of movies from top heroes who are against the formation of Telangana, Suresh Chowdary was very tactical in releasing his "Manmadhulu…Teravani Talupulu."

But, the doors (Talupulu) are opened for movie lovers who love to watch little spice on the screen. As per a gossip, the confidence which Suresh Chowdary has gained with "Manmadhulu" is making him to plan a direct Telugu movie with a star hero. Many are even gossiping that he is none other than mahesh babu.

Is ’Saleem’ more paaki than ’Okka Magaadu?’

Saleem got good responce in andhra region till now-Vishnu

Apart from the aligations in the Telangana region, Saleem is doing well in Andhra region. Vishnu and Ileana’s latest film ‘Saleem’ released earlier this month amidst lot of confusion. Initially the film was released only in Nizam area because there was a bandh in Ceded and Andhra regions. Vishnu said,the film had a great opening in Nizam area when it was released .

‘Saleem’ raked in Rs.1.7 crores within the first 3.5 days in Nizam area alone apart from all political uncertainty. Now, the situation has reversed.The film hit a wall in Nizam area and has opened in several screens across Andhra and Ceded regions where it’s is doing well according to Vishnu. YVS Chowdary directed this film.

Mohan Babu produced the film under the banner of ‘Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures’ along with BIG Pictures. It was made with a budget of Rs.23 crores and was released with around 295 prints.

Ramcharan liked as hero by Sirish Bharadwaj.

Trisha bounces back!

Now, sources in the industry say that Trisha is the front runner to be Kamal Haasan’s heroine in an untitled film, directed by K S Ravikumar and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also said to be playing a parallel role in the film. When contacted, Trisha refused to comment as she was yet to sign the film, which is likely to start rolling early next year.

After playing the lead to some of the biggest names in south Indian films like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Venkatesh, Vijay, Ajith and Suriya, Trisha is being paired with the Ulaganayagan for the first time.

Sources close to her say, "It will be a dream come true for Trisha. She had earlier canned a few scenes with Kamal for Marmayogi, which was subsequently put on the backburner."

Trade analysts say that it is a fantastic comeback for the actress that could put her right back at the top. Veteran trade analyst Krishnan says, "In Kollywood, the shelf life of a top heroine these days is only three to five years. Trisha will get another chance to bounce back to the top if she signs the film with Kamal. Now, 2010 looks like a shootout between T & T (Tamannaah vs Trisha)."

Hot Hansika Motwani’s “Sita Ramula Kalyanam” is all set to hit the screen sin January this year. The movie features 13 flop actor Nitin of “Jayam and SYE” fame. Since, Nitin is a hero from Telangana, the ongoing agitation against tollywood will not affect his film in anyway.

But the problem with the movie is that the movie lacks griping storyline as well as perfect screenplay. According to unit sources, this movie will also be in the track of Nitin’s previous and idiotic movies such as HERO, DRONA, and RECHIPO and so on as the list is a it big.

But unless and until the movie releases, nothing can be perfectly concluded. However, the same unit sources claim that Hansika Motwani will be a highlight in this movie as her skin show is said to be worth mentioning which has the potential to attract the mass crowds

Film industry loses 30 crore

According to the Producers Council Secretary T. Prasanna Kumar, the film ‘Arya-2’ starring Allu Arjun alone lost about Rs. 3 crore because theatres across the Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana regions were not allowed to screen the film. The suspense-thriller ‘Amaravathi’ lost Rs. 70 lakh across the State. In the State capital alone, the 10 shows that did not take place led to a loss of Rs. 30 lakh. The Priyamani and Jagapati Babu-starrer ‘Pravarakhyudu’ lost Rs. 50 lakh.

Throughout Anantapur district, between December 9 and December 23, only a half-a-dozen shows were screened, said K. Ramasubba Reddy, vice-president, Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce from Anantapur.

The geographical division into districts apart, the State has two major distribution districts called Nizam and Ceded districts.

The former covers all the 10 Telangana districts, including Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy, while the four Rayalaseema districts comprise the latter. Guntur and Prakasam are considered one film district, as also Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam.

These apart, Krishna, Nellore, East and West Godavari are called separate districts in the industry.

Losses due to non-screening apart, two big budget films did not release as per schedule. They include ‘Adurs’ with NTR Jr. in the lead and Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Leader’ with debutant hero Rana Daggubati.
